Mr. Schultz explained he has already discussed the pond with Marinette County and it was felt it would be an ideal location because of the wetland area and plant life currently on the site.  In addition, Mr. and Mrs. Schultz are interested is using a portion of the property for a tree farm.  The family will be building their house first and then an accessory building.  They do not intend to house farm animals on the site.  Plan Commission members asked Mr. Schultz if he was aware of the requirements for a tree farm.  He was not and therefore it was recommended he check with the WDNR to determine what steps are needed to have a tree farm and have that information available when the Town Board acts on this request.

A motion was made by Seils and seconded by Malechuk to recommend approval to the Town Board to rezone the said parcel from R1-Single Family Residential District to A2-Agricultural/Rural Residential District.  The motion carried with all in favor.

The commission reviewed the Emergency Management Critical Facilities Map received from Eric Burmeister, Marinette County Emergency Government Director.  Several items were added to the map.  There were also questions on what was meant by the term “fuel substations” and the location of one item shown on the map.  These questions will be directed to Mark Walter, Bay Lake Regional Planning.  In addition, Sylvester will check with Don Pazynski, Town Highway Administrator regarding recurrent road flooding locations.
