JOINT PLAN COMMISSION MINUTES

June 8, 2004

The June 8, 2004 Joint Meeting of the City of Peshtigo and Town of Peshtigo Plan Commissions meeting was called to order by Town Chairperson Herman Pottratz at 6:34 P.M.

Town Plan Commission members attending were: Bruno Brysiewicz, Bob Cerrato, Ed Malechuk, Herman Pottratz, Ed Sedor, and Karen Sylvester.

Mark Walter, Bay Lake Regional Planning Commission stated that it was decided the commissions would meet the second Tuesday of every month on an alternating basis between Peshtigo City Hall and the Peshtigo Town Hall.  All meetings are expected to end at 8:30 P.M.

Walters indicated the Coastal Management Grant time-line starts July 1, 2003 and ends June 30, 2005 which is a much shorter time-line than the Comprehensive Plan time-line.

Walters distributed the documents developed based on the visioning exercises completed by both plan commissions at the last meeting.  In addition, the following was provided:  “Comprehensive Planning Law Fact Sheet”, “Elements of a Comprehensive Plan”, the Town of Peshtigo and City of Peshtigo “Future Land Allocation Map Exercise” material.  Each individual commission member is expected to complete the Future Land Allocation map for the next meeting.  The goal is to indicate on the map how you would personally like to see the Town of Peshtigo develop twenty years from now in all areas (residential, commercial, industrial, etc).

The map attached to the Future Land Allocation map shows wetlands, floodplains, and other special land groups.  A great deal of discussion took place regarding the north side of the U.S.H 41 corridor which shows quite a large area of wetlands.  It was explained that this area may never be developed even though both the Town and the City would like to develop it.

There was no public comment.

The next meeting is Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at 6:30 P.M. at Peshitgo City Hall.

Motion to adjourn by Sylvester, second by Pottratz. Carried.  Meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Karen M. Sylvester
