PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

May 24, 2004

The May 24, 2004 Town of Peshtigo Plan Commission meeting was called to order by Chairperson Pottratz at 6:34 P.M.

Members attending were: Bruno Brysiewicz, Bob Cerrato, Tom Fetterly, Ed Malechuk, Herman Pottratz, Ed Sedor, and Karen Sylvester.

Motion by Cerrato, second by Sedor to approve the minutes of May 10, 2004.  Carried.

There was no public comment.

Jerry Kobishop attended regarding the possibility of placing a small pond on his development on Countryside Lane located in Section 25, T30N, R23E.  The Commission stated that they don’t want ponds in residential areas for safety reasons.  Further it was pointed out that putting a pond at that location may cause real water and sanitary problems based on the terrain.  In addition, Sedor pointed out the potential for problems with ownership rights, such as cleaning the pond and appropriate usage.  Mr. Kobishop thanked the Commission for their insight and then left the meeting.

Pottratz discussed discontinuing the Ag-1 class however it was decided that the class would remain as it is based on properties actually assessed as agriculture and being used for agricultural purposes.

Pottratz pointed out that he would like to be off the Commission and wants to have the Plan Commission portion of the Ordinance changed to allow this.  Further, he feels there should be two alternates.  He also pointed out other changes he felt should be reviewed and stated that the Building Inspector, Leo Krivickas, has quite a few changes as well.

Commission members were told to review the Zoning Ordinance up to page 49 for the next meeting.  Pottratz will ask Krivickas to attend the next Commission meeting, or in lieu of his attendance, provide a list of his suggested changes.

Commission members continued to work on the Zoning Map.

The next meeting is Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 6:30 P.M.  Items for the agenda are:

Subdivision and Highway Ordinance, Update on the Shore Drive Hiking Trail, Review pages 1 through 49 of the Zoning Ordinance, review of building permits, and continue updating the zoning map.

Motion to adjourn by Malechuk, second by Cerrato. Carried.  Meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

Karen M. Sylvester
