Minutes of the Town of Peshtigo Annual Meeting April 12, 2005

 

Meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. by chairperson Herman Pottratz. There were 18 Town residents in attendance. (See poll sheet)

 

Financial report was given by Treasurer Vilas Schroeder. After questions were answered Don Pazynski made a motion to accept the treasurers report. Second by Richard Seils. Motion carried with 18 votes.

 

Chairperson Herman Pottratz gave his report on activities and accomplishments of 2004.

 

The following Town projects have been completed thus far this year:

 

All Town ditches have been brushed and mowed to improve water flow.

Various new directional, caution, and street signs have been erected throughout the Town.

Nearly six miles of blacktopping have been completed, two miles of gravel roads have been graded, and 35 culverts have been installed to help alleviate spring flooding.

The Town website includes Town Board and Plan Commission meeting minutes and agendas, permits, recycling information, ordinances which can be downloaded, town and school maps and Fire Department information.  Check it out at If you are interested in listing your Town of Peshtigo business on the website, give us a call for further information.

The Town received state grants for correcting hazardous driving areas on Flame Road and Rader Road to Shore Drive.

Guardrails have been installed on Rader Road.

Evaluating the possibility of installing a bridge at the end of Johnson Road.

The Town of Peshtigo Zoning Map and Ordinance has been updated.

The Town of Peshtigo Code of Ordinances is almost complete.

A Comprehensive Plan with the City of Peshtigo is being worked on and paid for by a grant.

The Ed Kowalski Walking Trail off of Shore Drive is being worked on.

Thompson Park has a graveled parking lot.

Swimming Pool, Pond, Fire Commission, Adult Entertainment - Nude Dancing, and Citation Ordinances have been passed.

A Town of Peshtigo Fire Commission was established and members have been appointed.

The Town of Peshtigo fire truck had an updated foam system installed.

 

 

Authorization to Sell Surplus Equipment:  Motion by Mark Monnette to authorize the Town Board to sell surplus equipment as listed (portable Air Compressor, 2000 GMC pickup truck and used generator from the fire department). Second by Bruno Brysiewicz. Motion carried with 18 votes.

 

Authorize Town Board on Road Expenditures: Motion by Richard Seils to authorize the Town Board to spend up to $6000.00 per mile of Town road. Second by Greg Latimol. Motion carried with 18 yes votes.

 

Purchase Road to Recycling Center: Motion by Richard Seils to authorize the Town Board to purchase the road right of way at a reasonable price. Second by Don Pazynski. Motion carried with 18 votes.

 

Residents were asked to submit their business web address and the Town would list them on the Town web page. Town businesses only.

 

At the conclusion of the meeting outgoing Chairperson Herman Pottratz introduced the new Town Chairperson, Ed Sedor to the residents.

 

Herman Pottratz was presented a plaque for his many years of service to the Town of Peshtigo.

 

Motion to adjourn at 7:32 p.m. by Herman Pottratz. Second by Don Pazynski. Motion carried with 18 yes votes.
