May 18, 2004 Town Board Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M.

Approximately 20 town residents, Vilas Schroeder, Oren N. and the Peshtigo Times reporter were present.

 

Agenda Approval: Dates were changed for minute approval to reflect minutes being approved.  Should read April 29, May 5, May 6, 2004 minutes.  Motion by Pat Ravet to approve the agenda as corrected.  Second by Dan Staudenmaier.  Motion carried.

 

Minute Approval: The minutes of May 4, 2004 were corrected to reflect that Karen Sylvester was to work with Attorney Coggins not Pat Ravet.  Motion by Pat Ravet to approve the minutes as presented with the correction to the May 4, 2004 minutes.  Second by Dan Staudenmaier.  Motion carried.

 

Treasurers Report:  Motion by Karen Sylvester to accept the treasurer report as presented. Second by Pat Ravet. Motion carried.

 

Payment of Vouchers: Motion by Don Pazynski to approve voucher numbers 12319 through 12374. Second by Karen Sylvester. Motion carried.

 

Public Input: Comments by Jim Devcich as to why the Town was blacktopping Roosevelt Road.  Ron Hipke asked about ditching on Hale Road and Bay Road.

 

Easement on Lenz Property:  Motion by Pat Ravel to refer the matter to Attorney Coggins for an opinion.  Second by Don Pazynski.  Motion carried.

 

Surplus Property on Rader Road:  Motion by Karen Sylvester to accept a petition from Town residents to abandon said property.  Second by Don Pazynski.  Motion carried.

 

Bids on Engine 205 Repairs:  One bid was received and opened.  Refer bid to fire department for review and make recommendation to board at the next meeting.

 

Additional Board Meeting:  It was decided that if an additional meeting was needed that it should be held on the 1st Tuesday of the month.

 

Spring Cleanup: Karen Sylvester presented a proposal for spring cleanup in the Town.  Motion by Karen Sylvester to proceed with the spring cleanup program and hold it on June 9-12, 2004.  Second by Pat Ravet.  Motion carried.

The Town crew will be used to pickup large items.

 

Wage Adjustment:  Motion by Dan Staudenmaier to clarify that the $12.00 per hour wage for James Johnston is for all hours he works not just at the recycling center.  Second by Pat Ravet.  Motion carried.

 

Municipal Court: Pat Ravet gave a report on the progress of setting up a municipal court and is gathering information from other towns.

 

Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map Changes: Herman Pottratz outlined some changes needed and stated he would bring them before the Planning Commission.

 

Driveway/Culvert Ordinance:  Copies of the existing ordinance were handed out and board members were asked to go through them and recommend changes for the next board meeting.
